Why I Am Contesting

Another opportunity to serve

Candidate, President Elect · Gujarat ISA 2026–2027

I believe the experience gained through more than four decades of medicine, academics, teaching, research and professional service should continue creating value.

For me, this election is not simply about a position. It is another opportunity to serve.

My Five Priorities

What I aim to build

1

Academic Excellence

Learning must keep evolving

I aim to encourage stronger academic engagement through digital media, webinars, responsible use of AI and automation, faculty development and meaningful scientific exchange.nTogether, we can make learning more accessible and relevant.

2

Next-Generation Development

Give young members a platform

Residents and early-career anaesthesiologists need opportunities to participate—not only observe.nI aim to encourage:

  • Scientific presentations
  • Poster opportunities
  • Practical workshops
  • Continuing medical education
  • Mentorship and guidance

3

Research and Innovation

Build stronger research capability

I aim to encourage greater research participation by supporting scientific infrastructure, access to appropriate research equipment and regular teacher-development programmes.nResearch grows when the right environment is created.

4

Statewide Member Engagement

Strengthen every branch

Gujarat ISA should remain connected beyond major centres.nI aim to work closely with city branches, encourage regular programmes and explore opportunities to expand branch participation across the state.

  • Stronger city branch collaboration
  • Regular academic programmes
  • Wider member participation
  • Grassroots professional support
  • Greater statewide connection

5

Digital and Organisational Progress

Connect knowledge beyond geography

Digital systems can make professional participation easier.nI aim to explore:

  • Regular webinars
  • Digital case presentations
  • Specialty-based networking
  • Better member communication
  • Technology-enabled collaboration

A future professional network could help members connect by interests such as cardiac, neuro, paediatric and other areas of anaesthesia.

Never lose sight of the patient

Technology and investigations are powerful tools—but they should never replace clinical examination, observation, vigilance and judgement.

Dedication, patient care and humanity remain fundamental to our profession.

Experience should remain accessible

Senior members hold knowledge that can guide the entire professional community.

I hope we can make that experience more accessible, especially to those who need mentorship and support at the grassroots level.

Closing Appeal

Let us advance Gujarat ISA together

I have dedicated my professional journey to anaesthesiology, education, patients and our professional community.

With humility and responsibility, I seek your support and vote for my candidature as President Elect.
